You have to take into consideration that a lot of the mileages stated on 850s are not accurate due to the mileometer cog breaking, some of them many years ago.

I think that shows that compared to what you paid for it, the current dramatic rise in used car prices has filtered down to our level of the market too - I'd heard that this has happened, and I think that's the proof. It's going to be a pretty rough example that's sub-£1k now by the look of it! So don't let go too cheaply eh?

Thanks guys. I’d never expected it to be worth anywhere those numbers to be honest, although some of those seem silly high to me. Like you say Mr Luxobarge I’ve witnessed the values of used cars increasing but didn’t think it would impact this end of the market at all!

So it looks like it could be somewhere 1500-2500 maybe. It’s got it’s positive points and not so positive points of course.

I’m going to give it a good interior and exterior clean this weekend and take some good photos then pop a thread up with all the details I think.

Thanks again chaps 🙂

I'd be interested to see what they actually sell for. Some of the cars with inflated prices have been on said sites for a very long time

Most dealers will normally give a small discount and they have to by law supply some sort of warranty. Bigger discounts from private sales but no warranty.

The previous owner of my car could not get anything off the list price when he bought the car from well known classic Volvo dealer and when he sold the car to me 11 months later he lost 60% of the price he paid.

Got to love the optimism of those sellers...Fcuking clown if they think a bog standard 850 is worth £7k...

By their pricing the 20 something odd 850's and 70 I've got around here should net me at least £250K.

Im gonna be rich beyond my wildest dreams.

My point was the prices listed are not the actual prices that these cars sell for. They are chancing thier arm that some complete idiot comes along every so often !

Exactly most of those Ebay listings have gone for what they are worth.
Anywhere from £500 to £2000.
There's the odd one in there at daft money.
These arnt going up or any old cars by stupid money.
Marketplace is still littered with old bangers for old money prices.
