you need to guide them , ask why they do not look up their service bulletins ..
preferably find another dealer ..

Hello, I know this is quite an old thread but wondered if anyone had any success with getting this fixed? I get a vibration through my gear stick but only in 5th gear, every other gear is smooth. Also slight vibration through steering wheel at speeds above 50mph. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Hello, i had the same issue with gear stick vibration on 5 th gear. Sometiomes it was small vibration but most of time it was strong vibration which start to resonate to the space and one could hear them. I took it to dealer and they find that previous dealer entagled cables together (from gear stick to gearbox) and it will be ok now. But first time i was on highway it start vibrating again. So i had to visit them again and they replaced cables with new one and after one week it seems to be good now. Vibration in gear stick is still but the resonance is gone.
They said that they know about it and resonance is also in new car. For me was good that they were looking at gearbox and its good and vibration is not going from it.
I tell them about replacing gear selector but they said that they will change cables which have some rubber damping at the end it is old.
