Tyre scrubbing
Hi all.
I changed my front tyres yesterday on my 08 V70 2.4D and was shocked to find excessive scrubbing to the point that the wall was coming away with a split running around the circumference of the tyres, on both and both on the inside. I think if I hadnt changed them one or both would have failed disastrously soon. Chap in tyre garage said it could be a host of issues but didnt really goal post me on where to start looking. I had absolutley no indications there was a problem. No strange noises, no excessive pulling to either side. In fact the car , I thought was driving perfectly until i needed to change my front tyres. I would be grateful if anyone else has had a similar issue could indicate what the likely issue is. |

Incorrect tracking.
Incorrect camber angle Incorrect inflation Worn shocks and or springs. Worn wishbone bushes. First 2 are easily determined by a 4 wheel alignment at a decent tyre shop. Look for recommended independants not the chains who will find a host of items need replacing. Decent independant should be able to check your shocks and visually inspect your springs and bushes.
