But I must say, that Electric Silver is pure class!
Just picked up the car from T2 car park at Heathrow, and driven it 50 miles through traffic mud and rain and it still looks good - so no regrets.

I've had several black cars, and you're right about keeping them clean, but when they are clean and also have some chrome/aluminium enhancements then can look superb.

Spoke to my son on the way to Copenhagen airport this afternoon, and he is regretting getting black for his Mondeo Estate because of the keeping it clean issues.

I've also had just one silver car before, and it was a lot easier to keep clean than the black ones , but at the end of the day 'each to his own', and thank God we have a choice and it's not all "Henry Ford" .

Honestly? Crikey!

Take a look at this Phil, R Design auto 866900 Dkr without extras, and at an exchange rate of around 8.4 kr to £1 , that's around £103,000!

Regards,

Mike.

It attracts the 'luxury' tax. Even second hand imports do.

He's a bright spark, that Volvorocks - positively buzzing with comments, eh :-)

I recall many years ago being told by a Danish colleague that "luxury" cars had a HUGE tax imposed....but the taxi's were all very swish Mercedes - some deal for cabbies that made it possible.
I am going back about 20 years mind!

I believe that the Luxury Tax imposed on cars over about £10,500 cost price is 180% , but no tax is imposed on 'commercial' vehicles which include Taxi's- hence them using MB's - this may be slightly out, it could be up to 200%?

No offence to anyone, but there are some rough MB taxis, and it certainly diminishes the brand in a lot of people's eyes.

It can also be a good advert. I look forward to getting a taxi in Germany as I know it is likely to be a Merc E Class. I have always wanted one after getting out of one.

I always fancied the 'E' class, but I have been in some rough 'E" class taxis, although they look ok from the outside, and some even have leather covers over the seats to keep them clean, but it's no longer my car of choice unfortunately.

I have however been in a private hire 'S' class, going to a reception out there - now that was something else!

I guess it's down to the user/owner as to the condition?
