XC60 Hybrid
I drive a Volvo V60 Diesel Hybrid, why will Volvo not release an XC60 version of the same car?

Only my opinion, but I thought the plan was to test the concept with the V60 hybrid, then wait for the new platform for the V60/XC60 to arrive, which will allow both AWD and Hybrid versions of the new VEA engines?
I can't for the life of me remember where I got that impression, but given their stated aim of building around the new VEA engines (and the limitations of the current platforms for even adding AWD to the new engines) I must have heard/read it somewhere....probably. |

That makes great sense to me. Why plow resources into a short lived project

Think one of the drive-e or VEA engine videos explains the new engines have been designed with the future in mind by being able to add hybrid electric motor.. for new models coming out but think we are a way off yet.
That new Mitsubishi looks good for the price if you need 4wd and not wanting to get to 60 in less than half a day.. |

I had a lift in a Lexus GS hybrid at the weekend. Really lovely car and the trip computer stayed around the 47-48mpg mark, they are petrol hybrids. No slouch off the mark, quiet, smooth. I'd have one.

I hadn't seen that. You are right, very much competition for the XC60.
