MY14.5 update

I have had some news from Volvo which states that an update to my14.5 cars which will bring broadly in line with my15 cars will be available at the end of June. I have pressed for a clarification of broadly, however it is not forthcoming as UK is not aware of the exact upgrade content.

I am also aware that another update will be available shortly for those who suffer a gearbox issue similar to mine and that have described before. Other updates are in the pipeline that will address issues such as the darkness of the night mode on Sensus and other minor issues.

Regrettably we were unable to make the SMS messages work with my phone - perhaps some people with it actually working (IOS 7.04 iPhone 5) could describe any settings that they have on either phone or car as nothing appears in the messages anymore

So progress is being made ...

Will we get most of the updates OTA, or will it mean a trip to the dealers?

Definitely dealer trip for this, I would arrange it for a day when you go down to Inverness on shopping trip - perhaps get your 3 month QAI done at the same time?

I ment to ask, update via the internet.
QAI gets done on the 16 June, after returning from Italy.
By then I will be over 3k miles.

My info would suggest that the update will not be available by then.

You can only apply map updates yourself, all other updates need a dealer trip

Bugger.
I will have to rely on this forum to keep me informed when updates are available, as I can see that most dealerships will not inform, unless it is safety related.

I did have a voicemail from the dealer who supplied my XC60 that there was a software update, I think it said to the "radio" but as the car is booked in for first service a mile down the raid rather than a 80 mile round trip, I'll see what they say when it goes in at the end of June.

There is an infotainment update to resolve issues such as low radio volume when the ignition is switched on - another one on the list that I have reported to Volvo

Am I right in saying that you can have your car serviced and have software updates done at any Volvo dealer other than where you bought the car ?
