Default Door Pockets - black/blue

Both of my door pockets perished in the recent snow, succumbing to big boots and panicky heads!

Preferably in blue to match my interior but I know these are rare so I'll settle for black. Cash waiting.

Cheers

Alex

Alex - dare I say it, they are available from Skandix and Swedishautolampsforless (both on t'web). Not cheap with postage etc

You could ask Lakes in Wyboston to see if they have any - 01480 212291. I am going there myself in three weeks and would collect them for you and get them to SW London if that's any help...? Good luck, Nick

If you have all the broken bits, I would re-assemble with super glue ....wait 24 hours ....then reinforce the back with a couple of layers of GRP.
If you get new ones .... then reinforce them anyway ...will save tears later.

Nic - they are available from Skandix but at £100+ (!!!!!) I might have to settle for second hand. I might give Lakes a call, I know Wraysbury's in Staines have got a car as well so I'll give them a call.

Speedy G50 - Not sure I'd trust super glue on the super old, brittle plastic to be honest. They'll definitely just break again, even with GRP on it.

Alex - I had some bits of the Wraysbury car - can't recall if it had any pockets

One of the problems with original pockets is that the plastic will have deteriorated. Replacement ones should be more supple - I got mine courtesy of a friend travelling back from the states with room in his suitcase

Gluing the pockets doesn't really work - I've tried using MEK and Butanone both of which melt the plastic to form a weld. It's so brittle that the joint is strong but the pocket merely breaks elsewhere. Superglue and plastic aren't effective bedfellows

Try Lakes and let me know. All the best

Nick

Alex - Lakes have a black driver's side door pocket - I know as I took it off the door whilst grubbing about for other bits - it's in the back seat of a G-reg white saloon they have if that helps...
