Volvo Roller Sunshade
Hope someone can put me right on this issue which has arisen from comments on another 'on-line' Volvo forum.
I have a old original Volvo Roller type Sunshade which was available as an accessory back in the 80's to fit on the parcel shelf of various Volvo saloons, some members may recall the item in question. When fitted to my car I always had the blue side showing out the way, (towards the glass), and the lighter side in the car, various people have said that the lighter side should be showing outwards and the darker, (blue), side should be in the car in spite of a photograph taken from a Volvo Accessory Brochure showing the darker side showing to the outside of the car, this has never been picked up on before at Volvo shows, etc, can anyone give me their thoughts/ideas on this subject ? Thanks in advance, Kevin. |

I fitted mine with the blue side out. Then I noticed that the clips are shaped such that it would be easier to attach the hook if they were white side out. So I looked on the interwebs and sure enough others had mounted them white side out. White side out also makes more sense given that the white will reflect more of the sun's heat back out. I haven't changed them around yet (in 6 years) -- it just takes a little longer than it should to attach the hooks at the top.
