Default C30 1.6d R Design Central Locking and Alarm

Ladies and Gentlemen,

First Post, the central locking in my C30 is not working, when locking the car with the blade, the alarm does not trigger the indicators and the Led on the dash does not work.

I have set the key in the ignition to on and disconnected the negative, leaving for hours, checked the fuses and the bonnet micro switch with no joy.

My theory is this, the alarm module battery backup is dead.

In terms of fault finding, I am considering, changing the alarm module, followed by the remote keyless receiver,

Has anybody any experience with this and advice on my theory? Or should I just go to Volvo?

The exact same thing happened to me, but all I did was disconnect and clean the CEM under the glove box to try and clear a limp mode warning. This did work but after I’d plugged it all back in, my central locking stopped working and I also have an SRS airbag warning light now too! Mot in a week, joy!
Having it plugged in tomor, too see if I can clear the error codes. Will post on here if I manage to find a solution!

Hello!

Sorry I’ve not checked this forum in a while, my apologies! It’s turned out to be a loose connection into the CEM box apparently! I felt quite silly when they told me! Basically where it sits under the glove box a cable had come loose at the other end rather than Into the box itself. Quite awkward to reach but central locking and air bags returned straight the way! Hopefully your issue is similar and nothing too serious! Sorry I can’t give much more info!
