As does elegance
But as they stopped putting numbers on temperature gauges many years ago the actual temp isn't known - you are Halfway between hot and cold - but what is cold, what is hot - and is the gauge linear? I just let the EML tell me when something is wrong now

Volvo run every engine at maximum revs for half an hour before it is fitted to the car. This procedure is known to mate the piston to the bores and enable the engine to develop maximum power and longevity. It's always done with racing engines. I've seen comparative test results for identical engines measured on dynamometers and the difference is quite remarkable.
When the new car has it's software fitted it is locked to a limited max speed of about 20 mph and only the dealer can connect to Volvo Sweden to have it unlocked. Remember all the other components need to be run in though especially the brakes, but the engine will be fine whatever you do.
