Default XC60 D4 2.4L AWD SE LUX Geartronic

I have just ordered the replacement for my current XC60 D3 manual, a XC60 D4 2.4L AWD SE LUX Geartronic. I would be interested to hear from any owners of similar vehicles of their opinions both positive and any weaknesses or problems they have experienced.

Ordered same same version but with different package names.
XC60 D4 2.4L AWD Summum Business Pro Aut(Geartronic)

I would say the awd xc60 uses "old" 5 cly enginer and 6 speeds geartronic box may provide a stable performance, compare to the drive-e and 8 speeds box. the cons, may be the fuel consumption and co2 tax is higher than drive-e version. But i like AWD, even i don't need it.

Sounds great, extremely quiet and comfortable, gives 40 to 45 mpg. A real joy to drive. I really like the way the AWD goes round corners.

Haven't found a downside yet.

I'm just curious why people are buying a D4 AWD?

I understand if it's a simply the price difference but I can't see any other reason to buy one over a D5.

Hmm, for me i don't need a strong engine like D5, perhaps D3 is enough but D3 doesn't have AWD, AWD is not a necessary but better to have in Sweden as the rain and snow, and easy to sell after 3 or 4 years.

You add 4999 sek(400gbp) to "upgrade" from VEA D4 + 8 speeds box to AWD with old D4 + 6 speeds box, and another 30000 sek(2400gbp) to D5, for my family the answer is quite easy: D4 AWD

I picked the D4 AWD because it was my preferred option, I do not tow and my driving style does not need the extra BHP. I am hopeful that I will enjoy the car as much as my current car and previous Volvo's, time will tell.

I chose my XC60 D4 AWD because during my test drive it felt right for me. Supple suspension and plenty enough power to tow my 1600kg caravan. After 14 months ownership, I know I have chosen the right car. It does what I expected it to without any problems. It may be only 163bhp, but it beats my previous Kia Sorento that had 197bhp hands down.
I also knew if I needed more power, I could add the Polestar option, but to be honest it does not need it.
