If she uses the car straight after you, unlocking the car with the spare key will automatically move the seat and mirrors into HER driving position. Likewise when you next drive the car, unlocking with the original fob will move the seating back in your last position. Magic! (well on my S60 2008 anyway!) |

Lucky Me! Cautionary Tale
Yesterday drove (2015 V70 D3) to supermarket, it was raining, exited car having stopped, pulled out the keyfob, shut the door, remote locked the door as I turned to run for cover. Nice hour shopping. Returned to car and noticed rear light was on, strange, then noticed that engine was running! Car unlocked, very warm inside and apparently untouched, in Park, but engine running with key fob still in my pocket.
Obviously I had not pressed Engine Stop properly when I got out. As a result engine running and Remote Locking not effective. I engaged Drive, without the key Fob inserted and drove a few yards. Didn't want to risk going too far. I wonder how the Insurance would view the Claim had someone taken the car? I think I know that answer. I always thought that the Key Fob activated an Immobiliser or turned the engine off when removed. I consider myself to have been very lucky to still have my Volvo after leaving it in a public car park for an hour with the engine running.https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/images/icons/icon11.gif Ironically when I got home I found I was locked out of the house as I had left the spare house key in the lock on the inside.https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/images/icons/icon8.gif Last edited by StuAgain; Dec 14th, 2017 at 17:07. Tested on P2 V70 (2002)
Start the engine. Press and hold "read" button on left stalk. Tap "rear foglights" twice. Display next to taho should be showing STDC now- pressing "read" scrolls. I'm yet to lear more about using this. Has anyone else seen it? I'd like to know more.. Also- my windows won't react to remote fob. No matter how long I'd hold the button depressed. Not opening, not closing. Last edited by ThomasG; Dec 16th, 2017 at 08:20. |

Your car doesnt have 'global closure' feature on the windows so wont matter how long you hold the button for. You can get a Canbus Feature Extender to provide the functionality.

When I first got our C70 I noticed one of the mildly annoying characteristics of the Geartronic transmission is it's over zealousness to kick down to 4th at motorway speeds when you want to accelerate from say, 70 to 80 & being a turbo-diesel you'd rather the torque achieves that in top. Well having owned it for 2.5 years now I found out today that if the Geartronic gearbox is in manual at motorway speeds it won't so readily kick down unless the accelerator is floored
