Just thought these couple of pictures might be of use showing how to get wiring in to the airvent, these were taken on a phase 1 V70 but the same sort of principle should apply for the pipe/ wires to your gauge - Mike

so directly below the vent housing should be clear for a drill hole.

I had to release the climatic control unit on mine, I used a slitting disk on the dremel rather than a drill as I needed a fairly large hole as the cables all had connectors attached - Mike

right...yeah i might have to use a core drill bit as i dont own a dremel, about this climate control unit....can i unplug it if the battery is disconnected..?? i already have the SRS warning up as my DIM cluster died... or will the plugs need to be left in regardless....

i dont want the airbags firing in my face when i put it all back together....

where would you tap in for your 12v feed..??

I didn't disconnect the CCM as the cable is long enough to let the panel out of the dash.
As for 12V I simply tapped of the feed wires to the stereo, if your gauge has built in illumination you should also be able to get the dash dimmer connection from the back of the radio - Mike
