Interestingly I had this but didn't have the November update. It did just go away, more or less. I can't remember the last time I had it come up.

I thought it went away on mine too, but my wife was driving it today and said it kept popping up every 30 secs with a 'ding' alarm noise each time. Wtf is with Volvo software? My wipers work too.

I had the same issue, culminating in one memorable 10 mile trip with the wiper needs service message and bong going off every 20 seconds... had a software update back in November and that seemed to have fixed it - I think I've seen the message twice in the last couple of months.

Mine had an update last Friday, didnt do it again until Thursday evening on the motorway, it basically was doing it every few seconds complete with the bong noise!
Now being collected in a week for a full check over along with the new discs and pads, hopefully it will get fixed, it is beginning to pee me off now, It has been in three times now and is not fixed.

Weeks of wet miserable weather, going to work with the wipers on. No wiper service message came up. Now it has been drier for a bit and I have had a few trips to work without using the wipers and lo and behold the message comes up again. It definitely only seems to trigger after I have been using the car for a while and when the wipers have been off for a decent time too.....

Mine was fixed by replacing the wiper stalk switch. Tech said the ECU was not 'seeing' it all the time, hence the message. Whatever they did it worked.

I also got a software update during the service.

Mine had new stalk and some other bits swopped over, seems to have fixed it.
Although it has made a few warning bleeps , but didn't show any message on the screen! Bit of a mystery which they are looking into.

On other news, the new front discs and pads are squealing more than the ones that they replaced, again its in for that to be looked at.

Default Wiper fault msg and others

Dare to say incase i jinx it 1 week post software upgrade and new wiper indicatir stalks no issues. Dealer said log showed errors from steering wheel controls so they ended up swopping out 3 elements. So far so good. Really hoping this is the final solution. Interesting last 2 posts indicate possible solution.
