Default 2009 V70 - hesitation / stutter / at constant speed

Hi All,

Firstly nice to be here (new member) and Hi to everyone.

I have a 2009 V70 2.0 litre petrol and I was sitting on the motorway at 70mph with the cruise control on and every mile or so the engine would seem to hickup or drop off for a split second, I then knocked the cruise control off and just touched the accelerator and it was still doing it ?
There is no issues at idle or nothing, just at constant speed on the Mway.

Any idea what it could be ?

Thanks

It's a bit like the engine skips a beat for a second.

Cheers

Impossible to know what's causing a misfire without proper investigation. Could be all sorts of things. Have you checked the obvious like the spark plug leads?

If it's nothing obvious then the best thing to do is to get the codes read from the computer. If you're a DIYer it's worth investing in a VIDA/DICE setup to do this. Otherwise take the car to a decent independent Volvo specialist.

Yes all plugs and coils checked to make sure they are seated correctly and look to be in good condition, is it worth cleaning the MAF ? Or changing the fuel filter (due soon anyway) it has now started on acceleration too. There is no EML light on ..

As its a ford engine ,likely a coil pack

I like to run some seafoam through the oil and tank before going further.
