You don't need to switch it on and off it automatialy is ON when you start up and drive away . you can press the button to turn it off when you start the car but it will always be ON next time you drive away ... Have you read the handbook about an indicator on the instrument panel ?

Mine doesn't and never has shown on the dash.
The only notification is the green light I have on the switch, on or off.

I can get more detail about stop/start status in the relevant 'My V60' sub-menus of the Sensus system, including the specific reason(s) for it being inactive (which mine often is, usually because the battery is charging). In fact it's a useful indicator of when a DPF regen is happening whilst cruising at speed, as the stop/start system always becomes inactive during regens (for around 22 minutes, in my experience). I would expect yours to be the same, however you have a very different engine so I can't be sure.

There is an aftermarket add on available to disable the stop start permanently, which in my opinion is a good thing. I think Stop start is a ridiculous thing and only adds to the delay when the lights change green. Not only do they need to put their phone back into its holder, the engine has to start too. Glad my XC70 doesn’t have the function.

So do you ever see the stop/start indicator symbol on your dash?
