Default Volvo 145 May 1971 for sale

Over recent months it has become obvious that I need to update my cars to ones with power steering, therefore I have reluctantly decided to dispose of both my 145’s.

The first to be offered is my yellow one which has black vinyl roof and webasto sun roof. First registered 13 April 1971 and bought new by Jack Cluer, long time club member and one time club director.
Jack fitted an overdrive unit soon after buying the vehicle and fitted Wheels. Has kenlowe electric fan and rally instrument panel. Has smaller steering wheel that standard.Fitted tow bar. Stainless steel exhaust system. Jack fitted a leather seat to drivers side so it does not match the passenger seat. Interior is in good condition
The current mileage is 102,000
Current mot until 9/06/14 VEL until February 2014 (historic and free)
Advisory items at last test. Both FNS and FOS wheel bearings have slight play.
gearbox oil leak. Prop shaft UJ worn. ( all UJ’s in prop shaft have now been replaced)
Some pull to right under brake test.

I am having trouble loading Pictures if interested email me as below and I will send them to you

I replaced all tyres in May 2013 with 185/65R15 88H6.
Car situated in Fareham, Hampshire.
£4,250 ono

A shame to hear that you are selling the 145.

Have you considered fitting power steering? There are a couple of ways of doing the conversion

I remember reading about this car way back in the 80s, when I had my first Volvo.

I loved the story of Jack's shocked neighbours as he dismantled his brand new executive car, soon after buying it. (This was to fit the overdrive - apparently, at that time in the UK market Volvo didn't offer O/D as an option on the estate, so Jack fitted it himself).

Glad that the car is still going strong, but a shame that you have to sell.

John

I have considered electric power steering but decided against it. Although if she does not sell may revisit the idea

Isn't this the one with Cosmic alloy wheels? Sorry to hear that you are selling it and hope it finds a good home!
