Just thinking, if you can't find the problem quickly, if you reconnect your old lights and get the multimeter out, you should be able to identify which wire does what.

My brother nimminz has come up with a better solution put a relay in between the loom and the head light like this pic all thanks should go to nimminz and not me he did this

This means that when you turn full beam on it will also turn diped beam on regardless of position of the switch inside
This is how I did my wireing because the colours of the wires were the same I had the p2 lights with plugs

A big thankyou to nimminz for doing the picture

Right lets see if we can get this straight.

Position 0 (about 10 o'clock on the clock face) with the lights on DRL you should get all side lights around the car, dipped driving lights and the main (high) beam will flash but not stay on.

Sidelights (about 12 o'clock on the clock face) with the lights on DRL you should get all side lights around the car and the main (high) beam will flash but not stay on.

Lights switched on (about 2 o'clock on the clock face) with the lights on DRL you should get all side lights around the car, dipped driving lights and the main (high) beam will stay on.

thanks and yer agreed
my problem
the way ive wired at the moment and the problem I get is that on 10o'clock position the high beam dosnt just flash it stays on when operated
and when switch is at 2o'clock the high beam stays on but the dipped goes off when the stalk is operated.
the fix
but the fix that me and nimminz came up with should work and turn the high beam on at any point as long as the dipped beam bulb is on regardless of the position of light switch I THINK

Interesting. It seems you get the on (2 o'clock) function when in the off (10 o'clock) position. Good knows what going when you switch them on.

Have you tried switching the DRL's off and see what difference you get?

Start engine
Turn switch to sidelights (12 o'clock)
Pull and hold main (high) beam lever
Turn lights to off (10 o'clock)
Release main (high) beam lever

Default my wireing

this is the stalk wireing on mine compared to the wiring on the guide I was confusing

is this p2 wiring ?

the way I bridged the contacts on here was between the yellow and gray and that ment that the high beam stayed on with the dipped when on the first position on the light switch (10 o'clock)

this is the headlight wireing same colours

pink and yellow are separate thay are the the side light
