This sort of treatment didn't come along until the 740 series. Some Amazons got galvanised front panels and some, mostly later, 4 doors got galvanised outer sills. on 2 doors only the front section of the sill, as the back section was part of the rear wing. AFAIK that's it for Amazons, no suspension parts.

That is indeed a fine looking crossmember. Out of interest, assuming the engine is already out of the car, can you simply unbolt and drop that compete assembly (wishbones, springs and all) down and out?

Derek, what problems can powder coating lead to? I had all my rear suspension parts blasted and coated as a firm locally did it for very little money. They look super and bolted back together ok...

Just paint it to match the car if that suits you. I did mine with matched paint over rust inhibitor and primer coats.

David. Powder coating can be a bit hard and brittle so when you bolt something up metal to metal you can get some cracking away of the coating. It's tough but can chip, especially if the part has some surface rust left after blasting. Suspension parts are commonly coated though so don't be too worried about it. A dab of thick black paint is a good disguise and it's out of the way.

Front suspension parts back from wet spraying, very happy with finish. I'm going to build up the parts before fitting to the car. Any tips on how to support the cross member whilst doing this.

I used big blocks of wood to steady mine. You are going to need some good spring compressors or a big lever to get the shocks in. Lots of copper grease on the main pins too.
