It is. There was even an attempted recall but that didn't quite catch on... But Volvo does know about it -> Clan is a "Volvisti"

Hi all....ok dropped the car off yesterday so they had it this morning for a cold start so they could hear the chirping.....got a phone call at 8.50 this morning from the dealer saying they've heard the noise and it requires a new aux belt and tensioner, so they've ordered the parts which will be with them at 11.30, so the car will be ready for pick up at 2pm.
Well chuffed at this, I told them i'd be there at 2.30.
Got there just after and the car was ready all washed and ready to go....all done under warranty so no charges to be had....all seems well....have let the car cool for a couple of times since I got home and tried it from cold and all is well....no chirping...sorted...
Had a look under the bonnet and the new belt was apparent and so was the tensioner...by the looks of it as someone mention earlier, they seem to have fitted the hydraulic replacement, looks quite a chucky piece of kit....
So alls good...will keep my eye on it for a month or so till I rest easy...lol...
Thanks for all the replys

Karl...

Hi Chaps,

We've just bought a 2012 C30 2.0 petrol with the same chirping aux belt on cold start. Sprayed WD40 on it which has reduced the noise but need to fix it properly.

It's out of official warranty so I just want to fit the new Tensioner and Belt myself.

Anyone know what the part number for the revised (original?) belt/tensioner kit?

Much appreciated.
