My 940 and 760 were both great cars, smooth, comfortable and great cruisers. I was more than happy to replace them with 200 series cars though.

I drive other models as loan cars from the Volvo specialist when either of mine go in for work - these are usually the modern Ford ones with the occasional 850 estate. They are invariably smoother, more powerful and have more 'gadgets' but I am always happy to hand them back and drive off in one of my 240's!

Get yourself a manual 240GLT Mike!

Provided that its been cared for and has no hidden nasties you wont regret it - much better than a 2 litre!

Supamoto (Tim) was thinking of selling his really nice manual GLT estate earlier in the year - not sure whether he did or not - it might be worth PMing him to see the state of play.............

Yeh, keep an eye out on ebay, autotrader, here etc for a really nice 240 GLT estate in a nice dark colour, with a sparkling clean engine bay and possibly a tan leather interior?

That would be ace and you'd never regret it!

Steve

Cleanliness doesnt bother me Steve as that can be sorted here , just as long as its straight with no dents or rust etc...and been mechanically looked after .

Yeh but if a car is clean it has probably been looked after, and when the engine bay is clean it means that all the components are likely to be in good working order because the owner has obvioulsy been under the bonnet often enough to keep it clean, thus its probably been well serviced and maintained.
