removing headlight buckets
How does one remove a headlight bucket? The sockets that attach to the headlight bulb are too big to fit through the hole in the bucket. Do I need to remove the pins from the socket at the end of the wires? I think I know the answer to the question, but perhaps I am not seeing an easy solution. Of course, that socket will need to fit into a new bucket.

The answer is yes, remove the connector at the end of the wires. Not too hard to do. I used a small jewelers flat head screw driver, inserted from the front. It lifts a tab on the end of the metal connector for each wire and allows the wire and metal connector to slip out the back of the plastic piece.

That's how I did it on my car. Although it isn't hard to disconnect the wiring in the engine compartment either. If anything, it should be easier since they're on terminal blocks.
Just make sure you insert the wires back into the correct slots on the bulb connector. If not you will get some strange behavior and poor lighting.
