Model year
Hi
Maybe a silly question, but how do I determine the model year of my 2017 registered V90? cheers. |

Pop into your local dealer and ask them.
I find the parts chappies in particular are always very helpful. We recently bought a second hand Mini Cooper for 'er indoors. Now, Mini's are even more complex than Volvo for knowing what spec etc it is, so I popped into the local Mini dealer, ordered an oil filter and asked if they could tell me what model and spec it was. Two minutes later I had a full print out of every detail.

If you look at the outside of back cover of the owners manual that came with the car there will be something like MY15 - AT-1420 printed on it.
I'm not sure if the actual MY is always there but the numbers after AT stand for year and week of start of production of that model ie. 2014 week 20 in my example. Typically, the Model Year of car will be the year AFTER production start. Oftern there will also be a couple of models per year: Eg xc70 MY 15 (plus another which is sometimes seen written as MY 15.5) with respective start dates AT-1420 and AT-1446 |

Not 100% sure it will work but have you tried the VIN decoder on the VOC website here? the year codes on there only go to 2014 but it's alphabetical so should be simple to extend, or various companies have them online like volvopartshop here. From cars I have had, the model year tended to change around the middle of the year before.
