When you say "No power" I presume you have checked the multi plug with a meter ?

If not and because neither work, then it might be the bulbs have blown and need replacing. Again easy enough to remove and use a meter to check them.

Don't think they trigger the "bulb out" on the dash.

The "bulb failure Position lamp " was triggered on the dash checked and 1 was not working then later that day I checked again and both were not working.

took it to local indi
took bulbs out and checked them both ok
tried new bulbs but did not work
plugged his machine in and every thing read as ok.

all fuses checked and ok
put a meter on bulb holder connection no power to either side .
he was unable to find fault. had heard of possible problem with water ingress into electrics but had no experience of it personally.
perhaps I should try Volvo main agent

Thought Id ask around here first

Thanks for reply V70Zig

Could be corroded contacts. Ie power is there, but too much resistance in the circuit to power the lamps. Is it possible to inspect and give them a clean?

I had a problem with a side maker lamp 5w5. Volvo replaced all bulbs and did a software update to fix the issue. £300 but I didn't pay as the garage who sold the car paid the bill as it was under warranty.

Hi and thanks for a bit more info.......sorry it was my side marker that didn't trigger the bulb failure lamp on mine.

Next question then....On my 2008 to change the bulb you have to remove the whole light unit, same on yours ? (change over years). And to do that there is a multi plug that has to be disconnected....was there power at that plug for the side lights ? If yes, then I'd looking at what SignumGB says above.

I'm no expert by any means but if there is no power at that plug I'd hazard a guess at the CEM.

Have a look here https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...143579&page=24

This guy might be more help to you......just ask him on his thread.

Hope this helps and good luck, oh and don't forget to let us know the fix
