DVD remote (universal?)

please nont think i taking the p*** but looking at martinjs pic the remote looked like one we had in a holiday cottage recently which worked domestic dvd/free view and tv asked owner where it came from and it was the £1 shop bought one for myself and it works in doors dont have anything flash in v40 but just wounder if for a quid its worth a look

I did see that one, but thought, unless they provide the IR code with it, when the batteries run out I'd be in the same situation.

Thanks for the helps guys, but found the remote last night in one of the sleeve pockets behind the seats. Tired it and all works fine so I'm happy now..

I just picked up the car yesterday, xc70 se lux with 10 disc dvd and I can't get it to work. New battery in remote still no joy. Where is the receiver for the remote signal and any ideas how to make it work? I have put the dvds in label face down. I am trying to get to the lens to give that a clean as this worked for the sat nav. The 2 sceens in the head rests say no signal with a blue screen. Cheers David.

Hi Martin, I saw your post on this thread regarding the remote for the 10 disc dvd system in the XC90. I've got a 54 plate and trying to get hold of a remote for it. I couldn't find the picture you mentioned. Would it be possible if you could send me a pic so I know what I'm looking for. I understand its a RC 3210 but cannot find a picture. I've seen a few on ebay but nothing with that number. I bought a RSE remote with a silver surround but that doesn't work. Appreciate any help. Regards, Mark

I'm equally on the hunt for remote codes... not for a disc player in the boot, but for the IR sensor on the RTI unit in the dash.

Spent half an hour yesterday messing about with a Sky remote and multiple codes (I know quite a few being a Sky engineer ) and managed to get to

• turn the radio on and off and scan for stations...
• bring up one of the menus on the satnav

I'm gonna have a player with a Sony Universal one that I've had for years, BUT that you can programme using hex code. In theory it should be doable, as the remote sensors on the car are just that... although I can't figure out just yet if it's operating the CAN BUS or the IR control.

If I get anywhere with it I'll post up.
