We had our new Mini Cooper sd done. We went to a proper detailer and had a full paint correction first. Was not cheap but we are well pleased. This is how it should have been when we picked it up from the mini dealer.

they do NOT offer any protection from scuffs or scratches at all to get "the best" you need the bodywork to be 100% (no rust at all) the Paintwork to be 100% (which involves Expensive prep work) to use the Correct wash and top up methods for them you Still need to wash the car properly. you Still need to maintain it so if "apply it yourself and thats it done" is what you are expecting, it wont cheap ones off fleabay, have resulted in the car needing a FULL RESPRAY to fix the mess made of the car cheap ones self applied,,, see above applied ones by "valeting co",, see above IF you want one And fully understand what they do And do not do, are prepared to Pay the costs of the prep work And application, And maintain them,,, maybe

www.detailingworld.co.uk is a good starting point. The fact that you are using a clay mitt is a good start but you won't need that all the time. Autoglym products are great and offer excellent value for money so I'd keep that up in the interim. Personally, I use GTechniq products - after many years of chopping and changing every few months I now stick to their range.

Had my car professionally detailed using ceramic coating.
It’s money well spent if you are a bit obsessed with your car. Most of the dirt doesn’t stick to the body anymore and when you wash the car it’s much easier and comes clean and shine immediatly after. After 2 years still looks the same. To be done when the car is new. Or after respray or to be done by a professional after restoring body panels. |
