Engine: V8: - Xc90 2003 morning gearbox rattle

Hi please can any one help I have a xc90 2003 that is a great car . Problem is in the morning when started up sound like a duel mas fly wheel nose but it an automatic seems to go of when warm or then you turn car off it gives a small rattle from gearbox . Ave done all engine mounts and gear box mount still no joy .. if we want to be fussy the vac engine mounts kick in and out at a 1000rpm and when they do I get a small vibration from the engine. Am thinking there is a fault in the box that’s rotating round that’s doing this please help thanks John

Plug in VIDA and read the fault codes. Do you have any?

Hi not got Vida to hand car runs great and gearbox works fine rattle is just like a duel mass fly wheel when I take it out of drive it stops . Or when you turn key off 1second Overrun it rattles .. thanks for ya help

Check the aux belt - if it's flapping around when you hear the rattle noise it may be that the alternator overrun pulley is failing.... if it is it needs sorting a.s.a.p.

Hi all is fine there thanks for thinking of something that’s is a problem I checked pulley last nite .. mine is more gearbox side ..
