Default Seat heater pads -can they be removed without heat?

Hi gang,
Looks like I need a new drivers side seat heater pad. Wondering if any of you have dabbled with these enough to comment on whether they can be removed from old seats without using heat. I’ve found a few good ones at the wreckyard but I would be stuck prying them off on site. Just wondering how doable that is or whether I would be wasting my time and ripping it trying to get it off the foam pads.

I repaired my broken heater wire for 35p so maybe worth a look first?

Always worth looking under the seat first see if the cable is not 'crushed' or the green connector pulled somehow. I did 'pull' a heating pad off the foam base - gently pulled to detach it little by little. I don't remember how easy it was, but I did manage in the end. May try getting the one from a 2005 up, these are 5w (as opposed to 3w from 01-04). Same connector and on mine the wire was same length. Heats up better and most importantly, quicker. On 2005 the bottom cover is much easier to remove because it's kept with plastic slides, on a 2001-2004 is not fun to reach those metal sharp clips and twist them open with a long nose pliers. No troubles so far from the added wattage on my 2003 (plus I changed the high setting in Vida to the max temp, and it's just too hot now on the high setting, could do with Yellowknife weather now)

My heating pad I pulled I was planning to install it on the rear seats (bottom part). Did put it under the skin, but got lazy about connecting it - was thinking of adding more wire and connecting it directly to the corresponding front seat wire so both seats on that side would turn on at same time. Just got a bit lazy and didn't finish the project.
