Unhappy V50 No Electrical Power

Hi, my sons 2006 Volvo 2l Diesel was fitted with a new battery approx 4 days ago since the car had sat for a few months (he’s overseas) and previous battery had gone flat, new battery worked fine car fired up first time and car has been used everyday since.

However today the car has absolutely no electrical power, used manual key to open car, I have removed the ecm and no corrosion visible also checked all fuses nothing blown.

Car refuses to do anything, cannot run diagnostics as no power.

Any ideas what I check next after the ecm and fuses?

Daft question maybe but have you checked the battery? They do fail suddenly sometimes.

Hi
The alternator is a weak point as well. I am on my 3rd!!
They can get an internal short and drain the battery.
Worth a check.
Would definitely remove and charge the battery in case the battery is still OK.

I removed the battery and tester confirmed it was producing 10 volts and when load applied it was classed as weak. Battery was charged and when installed was enough to power up everything, but not charged enough to start the car. I've contacted the battery supplier and await their feedback. Lets hope it was a dud battery
