My motor mechanic can explain the technical details or do a search on the net and you’ll find similar stories. Genuine reason for sale. Bargain £1495 ono. Contact Colin 07790-616558 |

I think the cat c and warning lights may be putting people off, you have not stated what warning light(s) are on. Listing the fault may help as it may be a simple repair, pictures always helps especialy if the car has had some damage in the past, potential buyers can have a look at the pictures and see if the car has been made good.
Car Machanics (magazine) did a very interesting editorial on the C70 giving advice on buying one, the model came out very favourablly as a second hand purchase. |

2000 VOLVO C70 20V SILVER 89K miles, fsh, manual
Hi, thanks for your comment. I'll try to answer as best I can but not being a mechanic my technical jargon is nil.
The first light is to the rhs of the dash and relates to the emission system. The Specialist Volvo garage that services the car re-set the light but it came on again a day later. Having checked the car thoroughly and unable to locate a problem they tell me that it's more than likely an intermittent loss of pressure that causes the sensor to react. I must say that I've not had a problem with the car since this occurred about 2yrs ago and it keeps passing its MOT so there can't be much wrong. The second light is to the left of the dash and reads ETS. This came on about 6months after the light above came on.My mechanic tells me this relates to the electronic throttle management and can be caused by loss of power or power surges, or a problematic sensor. However, not having experienced any problems at all he said it wasn't worth trying to trace the fault if I could live with the light on. Well, I've lived with it for 18months and the car has drove beautifully all that time....and still does so. I've a genuine reason for selling the car, I'm getting a 911 (my dream car). However, I'll still have one foot in the Volvo camp. I've still got the V70 and will be replacing it with another later this year. |
