I have only bid around £600 for the other car and its close to ipswich and has a long MOT.
Your's is great but wife will worry about the short MOT,
I can do pretty much any work myself.
I will have to talk to the wife as £750 is a good price but short MOT and some work to do on it is not going to go down well.

so do you think the pipe can be replaced by just dropping the fuel tank or will it have to be completely removed?
Is the smell noticable in the car or just the outside?

Right, because of an interfering **** from scotland, who at this point shall remain nameless, I am stating here that the fuel tank will need to be dropped to get to the pipe that is seeping. This will require the removal of the prop, viscous coupling, diff and exhaust. I have had a quote from my local garage to do this work. 6 hours labour at £45 and £20 for the pipe. The only reason I am not keeping this car is the wife is being a bitch about it. If this car did not have this problem it would be on here for £2000, which is the price of the nearest equivalent car on other sites. I dont care what anyone says, this car is a BARGAIN.

The smell is not inside the car at all. Just get a whiff of petrol on exit from the car, lasting a few seconds. I have made this sound much more serious than it is believed to be because I want people to be informed to the fullest extent of the condition of the vehicle. If there is any doubt on my honourability then please check my other threads and you will see that I am no conman. Hint hint **** from scotland.

HI
Sorry but I won the ebay volvo for £591.
I don't think it would have been fair to offer you that sort of money.
I wish you all the luck selling this loverly car.

If its one of the fuel pipes that connect to the top of the fuel pump it can be done from inside the car by removing the fuel pump cover. 2 hours max, shame your not closer as i would have done it for you and have the spare connectors aswell

Aye, when the rear boards are removed there is pretty good access to the tank from above, so it should be a fairly simple repair.

I can't understand why this car is still for sale.......... it should have been snapped up pdq.

I cant understand why it is still on my drive either!!! If someone doesnt buy it pretty sharpish im going to assume this is a volvo model no one wants and weigh it in. I thought there would be more serious interest at the price. Oh well. Some you win, Some you lose.
