Smile Positive battery cable

Good afternoon all, my V70 D5 (2010 P3) has started playing up, at times it appears as if the positive battery cable was loose, attempting to start it results in a click and no electrics, jiggling the (tight, I’ve checked with a spanner) positive cable the electrics come to life and the car starts, sometimes it needs jiggling more than once, now it’s time to rectify it. Does anyone have experience of the fuse failing or as mine is doing playing up, if so is the fix to replace the whole cable, or is it possible to replace the fused part? Also the last time this happened the speedometer now starts/rests at 50mph, bit awkward adhering to speed limits now 😂
Any advice gratefully received in advance.

I think I read something in a forum post on a V70 - there's a big metal flat contact in line with one of the battery cables, or near to the positive terminal. That had developed a hairline crack and caused similar issues. The particular person was in or travelling to/from France I think if that helps you search it.

Similar issues can also happen when the battery is worn out.

But there is a built-in fuse in the positive cable. Carless handling of the cable at removal/refitting may break this fuse. Or perhaps bad luck can do the same.
