Hi all ,
Just bought V40 D2 cross country for my wife.
Noticed that brakes are getting very hot.
Also pls look at the picture and let me know what is the problem.

something seriously wrong there , give it back to whoever you bought it from, get them to fix is as they sold a dangerous car ... or give it to a volvo dealer to inspect , are all four discs the same ? a problem with wrong or damaged pads perhaps, only the inner half of the pad is rubbing the disk .

Possibly a partially seized caliper, unevenly worn or cracked or crumbling pad material.

Changed all the caliper and pads from halfords under warranty.
