Default 2-3-1 fault code

Hi all, my lambda light has come on and I have a fault code of 2-3-1, apparently my long term mixture is too rich in the part-load stage ???
Could anyone explain to me what this means and what may be causing the problem.

Thanks - Sean

2-3-1, = long term mixture at limit in the part-load stage.

Does not mean it's too rich, it means the limit has been reached, either too lean or too rich.

I would start by looking for an induction air leak, maybe a split hose near the ilde air valve.

Thanks chris, I'll check for leaks in the morning, I also have Mr. Haynes and his manual to thank for telling me that my mixture was too rich.

hi there i had the same code & the car running very rough,it turned out to be the fuel pump was running slow, your problem could be one of the pipes from your tank/pump?

Thanks, I checked for damaged/split hoses today and couldn't find anything wrong so I'll take a look at the fuel pump and pipes as soon as I can.
