Default humming saga continues

Well as mentioned in one of my earlier post have a problem with a humming noise (before it was intermittent now it is almost constantly there).
Went to another mechanic this week, he held the car for two days and even he is not sure.
He said that by his opinion it is 90% comming from the differential bearing but even he is not completely sure and told me to wait :-(
He also said that it is not wheel bearing for sure.
Checked at a few places they said the gearbox cannot be repaired (no parts). I suppose it is M56 Volvo garbox.

But here goes one question/plea.
On one forum it was suggested to someone with the same problem to check the bearing on the engine block.
Not sure what they ment by this or they have any idea what they are suggesting so could use a little bit of explanation/hints

Just to add to the post above.
Could this noise be the intermediate bearing (it is comming from the front right side of the car)
And every time I go over a bump the noise (if present) stops for a split second.
I'm guessing cause driveshaft does move up and dow, and gearbox bearing should be still all the time???

Finally solved after 4 times at the repair shop.
It turned out to be the bearing on the right driveshaft that is connected to the engine block.
It was found only after me insisting to check it (remove it and inspect it),
All the mechanics suggested it was the gearbox and wanted to change it.
Fu... id...
And now seems I have a problem with the thermostat :-(
