Hi, after work tonight I'll post some pictures...
The car's interior needs a complete overhaul (Replacement)
The Engine is in good running order just needs a battery charged...

Speak later

The B230ET engine is an absolute beaut - although from the 2 photos you posted - I wouldn't call it "cherished" - sorry!

Cheers

Cats became mandatory on 1/1/92 - after H reg had finished so in simple terms, J reg or newer has to have a cat, although there are exceptions. I have a 94/L reg that is still permitted to pass the "BET" - Basic Emissions Test (non-cat) because it fell into the "changeover grace period" that was granted due to the quantity of vehicles sitting in dealers showrooms, sotrage yards etc before being sold.

Being an alloy head, it will automatically have valve seat inserts, these normally cope with unleaded without modification but high octane unleaded (BP Ultimate, Shell V-power Nitro etc) is advisable, preferably not from supermarkets except for Sainsburys who are supplied by BP with the same petrol as they sell on their own forecourts.

Some Volvos were available with a cat (Lambda Sond) from about 1989 onwards as an option, in my Utopia all cats would be removed so we would no longer be poisoned by H2S on a regular basis!

i would be interested in taking this car on as a project but in honesty its not worth that much due to the amount of work and money that needs to be spent to make nice, would look nice alongside my 2 other face-lift 760s

cheers ben

Give the man a call Ben - his numbers about halfway down the posts on Pg3 of this thread.

Reading between the lines i'd hazard a guess he'd rather take 5000 pence (£50.00) from someone who was going to fix it up and restore it to its former glory than £5000 from someone who intended to scrap it at some point.

Don't quote me on those figures, they're only my imagination but i'm sure you could probably come to a deal, he seems to want the beast to live on!
