On the XC60 the rear suspension is a fully independent, multilink type, consisting of an upper and lower control arm mounted via rubber bushes, to the hub carrier and rear subframe. The hub carrier is located by a lateral link arm and an upper stay each side. Coil springs are fitted between the lower control arm and the vehicle body, and there are hydraulic shock absorbers. I believe that the XC60 and S60 share the same platform, so shouldn't be too different

The V70 has no upper control arm on the rear (not ones with ‘standard’ suspension anyway). There’s a spring (not attached to the shock) & a separate shock absorber.
