Is yours turbo or non turbo, I believe they're different as someone wanted some for a 1991 940 non turbo and the gauges I have from a 1992 Wentworth were different on the back.

Aha cheers 😁
I'm a bit nervous about pulling/repairing clocks without a backup plan, but I'll have a read through and see if I can gain confidence... The issues I have are speedo/odometer and ABS light, not sure if there's anything more sinister going on with that. Last edited by Steve740; Dec 20th, 2020 at 10:46. |

Maybe but what's the problem with the cluster/speedo/odo/ABS light?

OK prepare for the saga...
So the car was originally a 2.0 turbo, the motor died so its now been swapped for my old 1998 2.3t. The old original gearbox was the overdrive version, which had an intermittent fault so overdrive and speedo would sometimes work, then stopped working at higher speeds, then stopped working altogether. (this was before the engine swap, think it was about the same time the abs light started coming on) Fuel gauge, clock, rev counter and oil temp gauges all work fine. I can do soldering easily enough, but don't have a way to test terminals, and since it's my daily, little bit nervous about pulling the cluster. |

The speedo is driven off the back axle but reading between the lines, either the sensor on the diff is duff or the wiring between the sensor and speedo, probably on the wiring between the axle and spare wheel well. It has a habit of chafing and/or the insulation cracking and flaking off, i'd leave the instrument cluster along and look there first.
