Default Front side lights the orange ones

When main and side lights are on, are the orange far side of the cluster lights meant to be on? Oen side on mine is on other side is, off. Its not the indicating light as this is the next light bulb down. Confused

!

My 2011 C70 (dipped headlights as DRLs) has them lit. One failed a couple of years ago, so I changed them both from amber to white, which I preferred. I don’t know whether it is legal, but it’s passed two MoTs since I did it.

Its a side marker light, very Volvo-thing doesnt serve any other purpose except marking side of the car like on US spec cars. From what I know its not a legal requirement for MOT or NCT but it looks cool on Volvo so replace the bulb and be proud of those!
and yes it turns on with parking lights.

I initially thought it was an indicator stuck on... Not sure I'm a fan, so might whip out the bulb, bang it on the floor then put it back ha!

These should be on all the time. Just corner marker lights. If one isn't working change the bulb I think they're just standard 501's

Just take the bulb out, no problem with it, its not monitored by car so you can leave empty socket, no need to destroy the bulb

Its all matter of personal preferences, for me its a very "volvo" thing and I like them, other ppl blacks them out aswell, no judgments there
ever noticed how previous gen S40/v40 had the corner markers in the bumpers even in European specs? Only volvo does that!

Still see the odd one of these around... quite a good looking compact estate and the ones I see still seem in pretty good condition.
