T3 Auto start stop between drive and reverse
Hi. Have had my V40 T3 Auto for a few days now. One thing that bugs me is that the start stop cuts in when I’m moving from drive to reverse. It seems that by having to go through neutral, this causes the car engine to cut out then it immediately starts again when reverse is engaged. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know of a general Geartronic discussion I could put this Q into?
Thanks |

My V40 geartronic is the same. I have found that if you move the gear shift lever very quickly between D and R then it doesn't tend to stop the engine briefly in N.
If I am reversing onto my driveway or into a parking space I undo the seat belt whilst still in D which disables the start/stop. Steve |

Thanks mate. That’s a good tip about undoing the seatbelt.

First thing I do in my V70 is switch the start/stop off when I get in.
It can catch you out if you stop briefly to filter into traffic. |
