Vida and dice

Hi. Guys, fairly new to the forum and had my 2011 Xc90 since December. Although I love it, it's just developed a major fault I'm trying to get to the bottom of. Been to main dealer and they giving strange diagnosis so what I'm after is Vida and dice for my laptop to diagnose for myself. Where are all you guys getting your software from? Need a good reliable supplier of both software and cable. Anyone on here? Cheers👍 Steve

VIDA free online, if you Google. DICE, just grab the cheapest one off eBay - all the same. There are people that sell the whole lot as a bundle (laptop, dice, vida licence) if you want that. Facebook seems to be the main place to fnd them.

3 different eBay ones are being used by friends/family, all are working fine and doing the same job. Could you elaborate on what makes them different? Would be useful info for anyone else reading the thread and considering getting DICE.

you won't get any licence ! they are all counterfeit and doctored to work ...

None of this is new information and there's a long history of eBay Dice issues on this forum.

There are different board qualities with differing components and differing levels of quality in the soldering so roughly 10-20% don't work.
The eBay sellers let you find out they don't work though as the Dice are shipped without ever being tested on a Volvo.

I test every one that I sell and weed out the bad ones and currently have 5 Dice which are being returned because they don't work correctly.
Dice can appear to connect fine but when you really start delving into all the possible functions, some misbehave.

Your experience of 3 Dice working is perfectly possible but come back to me when you personally know of 30, 50,100 eBay purchases that were 100% working.

If every eBay Dice worked, there would be no demand for the Dice I sell on my sales thread here.

That's why I baught from Chester D5, a known quantity, if it didn't work it was something I had done.

Very pleased with the service and rapid delivery.

I have recently baught a snap on tech generic diognostics kit for other cars in the family.. Belive me for what that cost I could of baught a boatload of vida dice from simon, but again it works.

Hi mate, didn't see your message till after I ordered an eBay one. Can't respond to pms either as seems I haven't posted enough yet. Still trying to put vida on my laptop top but cant even play help video.
