Can you still drive the car, or has it been recovered?
It will go to an approved bodyshop from our lease company (it's a company car).

The car is driveable and I've continued on to my destination, however I've got a hire car arranged and it'll be left here for the bodyshop to collect.

I do have dashcam footage and will provide if necessary. It shows that I stopped before the van, and then was hit from behind pushing me into the van in front.

There was no visible damage to the van and I suspect (although can't be sure) that he won't be claiming for anything, but will reserve judgment at this time.

Glad you're OK and the Volvo has done its job.

Hopefully gets sorted asap.

Dash cams are a must, I'm having both front and rear cams fitted to my V60 Cross Country. They have proven invaluable in court and with insurance claims many times.

I'm glad that you are OK, it goes to show how good volvo's are

Minor update - repairs have been authorised, parts ordered and arrived. Volvo booked in for 28th April for repairs to commence.

I'm at the mercy of the lease company unfortunately but have given them a rocket to speed things up and improve comms.

In a 70 plate Passat Estate at the mo - it's not a bad place to be fair.

Chased with the lease company this week as I'd noticed on Volvo On Call that the car had been parked up for a few days.

Waiting further parts which are on way from Sweden - must have been some items which they couldn't assess from the photos. Lord knows why they couldn't just come out and do a proper assessment in person.

Because the longer you are in the courtesy car the more they can screw out of the other insurance company for rental costs. The whole system is broken and borderline corrupt.

Too right!

A year years ago some plum in a campervan smashed my mirror on my BMW X3. Auxillis was charging his insurance just under £400/DAY for a bottom of the range RR evoke!

It was only because I paid out of my pocket for a replacement mirror glass (they still had to repair the paint damage to the mirror cap, electrics and the drivers window which was scratched up by the mirror glass hitting it) that it was only 3 or 4 days rather than weeks!

I then had to threaten to sue the 3rd party for the cost of the mirror.
