Just had a look Welton, looks a cherished motor and in very good nick for an 05 plate. Priced very sensibly I think and someone will get a very good car for little money. I'd have been tempted to try and £2500-£2995 due to the fact it does look very clean and not many others will have such a comprehensive history. Good luck with the sale!

Sorry to hear you're moving it on. To be honest, the market is so bad for gas guzzling petrols that achieving £1800 could be a win. I sold my 2004 T5 SE in 2017 for £1800 and it was incredibly well looked after. Believe me I tried for more and hoped for £2-£2.4k at the time. It had done about 130k miles but all receipts were provided, no expense spared with FSH.

Good luck with the sale Welton. I'm firmly of the belief that these cars should be worth more than they are going for. I only hope you get a proper enthusiast content to pay a reasonable figure.

I sold my 57 plate T5 for £2500 2 months ago and was on 155,000 miles.

The guy made a massive journey through lockdown to get it, so you can get reasonable money for these cars still. Granted mine was a bit newer.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, I guess timing and the right buyer need to coincide for me.

I’ve got the space to keep it ok for the time being so will be patient.

It would even make a good donor car for some crazy Ford Focus project or similar as the engine, clutch and box are sweet.

I can't believe I'm having to do this but before I dip my toe into the world of Autotrader I am prepared to offer my car to Forum readers for:

£1,500.00

This would reluctantly have to be a final take-away price with no more negotiation but I think it makes for a cracking deal for someone

TBF I thought it would have sold by now and although there's no mad rush as such it's starting to take up room on the drive and Mrs_Welton is beginning to mention selling the car more and more......

I really think yours is a nice example and I'd suggest putting it up for a minimum of £2,495 on AT if you do stick it on there. I think it's worth it. There's only one on there at the mo which is a 2010/46k miles but auto, for £6.5k. £2,995 or £2,495 minimum for me.
