What did you replace it with? Hopefully the genuine volvo part . A Hose clip you buy in a motor factor wont be as good as the original one you had even .... and may rust through in a few years again ..

One of these modified hose clips is £2.84 including vat and including Royal Mail 1st class recorded delivery, so if anyone wants one let me know. I can get them in stock and posted out to you the same day if ordered by 1pm [Part number is 988028]

Simon
Hi Simon can you still offer these clips?

Regards,

Its amazing whats available on here....
Been and checked, a little on the surface, but nothing to alter its strength, doesn't even come off as a dust when rubbed.
Glad I read this thread now though for future reference.

Hi , I,m another newbie just joined. Just to let you know I had this problem in a traffic jam in the centre of Birmingham last April. Lower hose clip must have corroded and fell off at some time and with the heat and pressure the hose came off dumping all the engine coolant . Luckly I could pull over stop and do a temp fix until I could get home, no damage done to the engine. The car was a V40 2.0l Petrol with 226,000 miles.
I now have a 2001 1.8l petrol and the clip looks corroded, the dealer told me he just uses standard jubilee clips - can anyone tell me where to get the stainless steel OEM part?

Is that the clip there?. I think mine looks ok but seeing it such an easy job might be worth doing anyway.

No thats not the one , it is the larger hose on the other side of the radiator low down , the battery side ...
I would get the volvo clip rather than "jubilee " they are the correct width , which are narrower than the non volvo ones .. and fit the groove in the hose left by the orignal .
