Spare a thought for those of us in public services and related services who will never be offered a company car!!!

We have to buy cars with our hard earned savings with absolutely no tax relief or benefits.

Actually, the final salary pension scheme is based on the lowest salary in that pay scale, so if the pay scale goes from £18k to £27k, the FSP is based on £18k. so yeah big money! oh and the average Civil Servant is on circa £24k (they've always been paid less because they get certain perks like a FSP).

My wife's monthly pension is £440 that's the FSP from a £25k pa Civil Service pension...……….

All dependant on years of service. I agree Teachers, Civil Servants were paid less but got job security and a good pension. Now that's gone and can be firmly laid on politicians of both parties who went for short term political votes.

Most FS were loosely based on the civil service scheme of 40 years service. Then getting a lump sum of 1.5 x the final salary and 50% pension. Or no lump sum and 2/3rds pension.

But no car...🙀

We are a strange country whereby the car industry is underwritten by company cars. Maybe under Brexit company cars would have to be assembled in the UK. Lol

I wish !

I've had to work and save hard for my Volvos. Especially the last 2 XC90s.
I'd really love a new model XC90, but Volvos leap into the luxury SUV market has put paid to my chances.

Yes I know - can't you just hear those violins.
