Default S40 R-Design leather seat restorer

Hi,

I'm looking for advise on restoring the seats in my R-Design. The cream leather base has become a bit worn and mottled. Does anyone know of a good restorer kit that is suited to the R-Design seats?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Default Restoring RDesign cream leather....

Jeremy,

I had some ScuffMaster made up that is a pretty close match; I'll PM the details to you as there is some personal data attached; you'll probably need to add some of the yellow tint which is part of the package; I did.

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave, I have a feeling cream seats are going to be fairly high maintenance.

Regards,

Jeremy

I bought leather restorer from a company online, I have the exact Volvo colour name and they matched it perfectly, no adding tints or colours..
Prepare the leather, apply using a sponge, wait for it to dry and away you go. That was six months ago and it still looks like new. Just a gentle wipe with a mild cleaner once a month.
I'll get the details tomorrow and post it up if you still need it.

Yes I could be doing with that too, my drivers seat is a bit worse for wear too. Was it easy to do?

My cream/ivory half leather R design seats had slight premature wear on them and I got a scuff master kit made I sent a sample off and they mixed the colour and was an excellent match. My seats are not bad they have been pampered but I am very fussy.
The dye was easy to use and top results at first it looked too dull but once cleaned with the conditioner it matched really well on one part I added gloss enhancer that came in kit but it went too shiny after the conditioner , so was not needed. I did not need to add the colours in either the mixed batch of mine was very near perfect.
The key is good clean and De grease then several very light coats so can be time consuming but better than putting a thick coat on. So at first seems think and not to cover, but after several coats is fine

Excuse my ignorance, but where would one go to get a leather scuff kit made up to the exact colour of the r-design cream?

Hi I got mine from gliptone liquid leather they have a website they had excellent customer service very helpful. You send them a sample and they mix as close as they can get. A sample can be taken from an un seen part of the leather.
They then match the colour mix a dye and send it out for you. They recommend a degreaser that I got from them.
I got a kit that included toners to change the colour if required lighter or darker. But mine was an excellent match it also included a gloss enhancer again I did not need this. The dye looks very dull but once conditioner applied it takes off the dull finish and matches the rest of the seat.
I can get you the mix number they did for me if required but please bear in mind due to mixing techniques the colour might slightly differ plus your seats might be a slight different shade to mine. On the other hand might be a perfect match like mine.my seats are the cream r design half leather from a c30
Hope this helps
Rob
