The D5 engine with a DPF fitted should only be filled with A5/B5 or you could damage the DPF

A DIY oil change is 50-60 Euro in parts (a bit less in GBP), so I see no reason so push the limits here

Well It has caused no problems whatsoever in the 18 years volvo have had 18000 mile / once yearly servicing, The castrol oil was developed for that particular service interval. It helps your pocket too !
