Question Auto Stop Parking Brake - Software or Bad Battery

Since the last software update a week ago, the auto start/stop braking systems has stopped working on XC90 MY18 (April 17). For example, press brake pedal to full in a city traffic or at traffic lights the car would come to a complete stop (no need to keep pressing the brake pedal) and car will start and roll forward upon slightly pressing the accelerator (auto releasing the brakes).

Now I have to keep my foot on the brake pedal - it does stop the engine though but soon I lift my foot off the car auto start and starts rolling forward (or reverse if reversing). Under 'Settings' I have changed 'Individual Braking Mode' to 'Dynamic' and then back to 'Normal' but it hasn't work. Dynamic is the above later case.

Volvo has booked my car in for wing mirror replacement and I have already told them to log this as another issue to see if it is a Software glitch and requires another re-update to fix it.

Meantime, I read the below interesting thread on this forum (Ignore the title heading which needs changing) about auto stop functionality stopped due to bad battery and now debating shall I send the below link to Volvo dealer and ask them to have a look at the battery and replace with a new if its one of the bad batches.

The V90 has a button that deactivates this feature - its behind the parking brake switch, XC90 the same? The green lamp on it needs to be lit or the auto hold is disabled.

Then its working and ‘holding’ you get a green ‘handbrake’ type symbol on the dash.

There is a setting somewhere which turns the auto brake on by default. The setting may have been altered at service with a sw update

I thought the car was faulty went off looking for whether this was my car acting funny and found this thread.

So basically whenever my car stops in London via Auto Stop/Start it puts the handbrake on and I have to prod the accelerator to get the car moving.

Anyway I found the button to turn this off and it a lot better for me in Central London - you're stopping and moving too frequently and its too jarring a feature for me personally.
