Meyle HD track rod end

Changing the left side track rod end today, had a problem with the new meyle HD part I'd bought. The new arm is about 20mm shorter than the original. I tried fitting it but it only allows 2 turns on to the inner arm. That doesn't seem right to me. I've checked part numbers and they're correct. Anyone else had a problem with the Meyle HD track rod ends.
Car is 2006 D5.
Meyle part number is 5160200008HD
Have attached a photo to show what I mean.

Weird. Meyle are a decent brand so you would assume.

Is the 'original' correct, meaning, is it an original Volvo part ?

According to autodoc who I trust, overall length should be 258mm as per the Meyle you've received so what's vital now is giving us the brand and part number from the track rod end which you've taken off the car.

I've put the original back onto the car as it need to use it. I couldnt see any brand or part number on the old part.

Looking at the photos of the new parts online (meyle /moog etc) they look the same length as the original, but the new Meyle part I have doesn't look like the online parts if you see what I mean.

Does anyone have an old track rod they could measure?

I'm also assuming that all xc90 up to 2012 had the same track rod?

Meyle will last 1-3 years. Perhaps you got the part for the early cars with the SMI steering rack. Try Lemforder instead (I'm only guessing this to be the correct one) https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...761719#fitment

Always heard good things about meyle parts? I'll take it back and speak to a volvo parts supplier.

Does anyone know where to source Lemforder outer tie end rods in Uk please. Autodoc doesn't stock any more.
Only found inner track rod with them. Euro car parts is the same. Only having inner but not outer.
