Took it for the mot, failed on track rod and blowing exhaust, told em to crack on and fix it cos it will make me be in pain to do it myself, oh the joys of getting older every year lol.

On the ferry right now to dover for a wedding in the uk. We were travelling over from where we live in south west france and past le mans at lunchtime. There were thousands of brits travelling over for the 24 hr race. The A28 was packed with them. There were more brits than french cars! When we dropped into a services it was more like being at sandback services in the uk! Evry car in the petrol station was english. Lots of porches and tweaked cars. Same at the ferry!
The xc60 was very good on the trip. Volvo seats are very comfortable, and i was quite fresh except for having to wake up at a ridiculous hour. My wife know knows there are two six o clocks in the day! We dropped my two pointers over to the kennels yesterday. They think its great as they get walkies twice a day and can pee for england ( or france) on every new lampost! We are missing them both but they would be a handful to take with us and i would not leave them in the hold of the ferry. We sold our luxury motorhome to a french lady and gentleman. They were gobsmaked how good condition it was in.( I had the paintwork ceramic sealed a few years ago. We got the same price that we paid for it five years ago. France is bizzare like that. Cars are mega expensive here and if you buy a quality camper, they actually hold their value because of the demand! My year old volvo in a french dealers - same model and miles is 15000 euros more than if you buy the car in england, ship it pay the registration taxes and change the headlights, which is what we did in January. Crazey! |

Changed out the top motor mount last night, which should've been done ages ago. There wasn't much rubber left in there. Next up will be control arms, drop links and ball joints.

At 7:15 this morning....(what was I thinking???!) I manhandled, huffed, puffed, sweat and almost swore whilst installing the little ones Isofix car seat. I find it bizarre that Volvo didn’t include isofix bars as standard back in 2004/5. However, the very friendly Indy dealer installed left and right kits for nothing. Shame they are located so deep that I needed to use most of my not inconsiderable bulk to get the seat locked on.
All good now though, and brownie points to me for not asking for assistance! |

The D5 has a new MOT on it.
Only work was the handbrake. The fitting on one side was damaged so they replaced that and also changed the rear discs and pads at the same time I wanted to replace these soon anyway as one disc was a bit pitted so was better to have these done in one go.
